Momentous Mobocracy

It feels good to be an American today. People seem to be walking a little taller, with pride and a air of victory and great optimism unlike anything I've ever witnessed. Amazing how a vast majority of Americans knocked the walls down to vote for change. It became obvious Americans are irrefutably tired of the blue-plate special they've been served over the last 8 years. And though I tend to be left of left, and often times was uncomfortable with the centricity that often defined Obama's campaign, it feels right and hopeful to have a man of this stature in the White House.

Last night, when I spoke to my family, some of whom are in their 80s, their reactions and relief were epic. Similar to Ann Nixon Cooper, they have seen history unfold, sometimes quickly, and sometimes in painfully arduous ways; their stories and life histories tell tales I can only imagine.

Crying, my grandfather said, "I never thought I'd see this in my lifetime. This is really something." Heck, neither did I.
